Amazon MGM Studios has commenced production on a biographical drama about the life of John Madden, the legendary American football coach and broadcaster. Deadline has exclusively obtained the first image of Nicolas Cage as Madden, alongside Christian Bale as Al Davis, the former owner of the Oakland Raiders.
According to Deadline, the film will be directed by David O. Russell, who also wrote the screenplay. The story follows Madden’s remarkable journey, from his days as a football coach to his successful broadcasting career. Madden, who was a lifelong teacher of football strategy, reached the pinnacle of the coaching profession when his Raiders won the Super Bowl. However, he had to step down due to health reasons.
