Celtic Loanee Set for Swift Return After Disastrous Spell

Celtic Star Luis Palma Set for Summer Return to Parkhead

A forgotten Celtic star could be on his way back to Parkhead this summer, just months after he headed for the exit door. Luis Palma, who was loaned out to Olympiacos in January, may be returning to Celtic after his temporary spell in Greece ends.

According to reports from The Scottish Sun, Olympiacos boss Jose Luis Mendilibar has hinted that Palma will be back at Celtic in the summer. Mendilibar’s comments suggest that the Spanish winger’s loan spell at Olympiacos may not be extended beyond the end of the season.

Palma’s time at Olympiacos has not been particularly successful, with the winger starting just two league games since his move. He has played a mere 18 minutes since mid-April and was an unused substitute in their title-clinching win against AEK Athens last week.

Mendilibar appears to have made up his mind about Palma’s future, stating that he has already decided which players will stay and go at the end of the season. The Olympiacos boss added that it will be difficult for Palma to change his mind in the remaining games of the season.

As The Scottish Sun reports, Palma still has three years left on his contract at Parkhead. The winger’s future at Celtic has been uncertain since his loan move to Olympiacos was announced.

Palma’s potential return to Celtic comes at a crucial time for the Hoops, who are on the verge of securing the Scottish Premiership title. Brendan Rodgers’ men will clinch the title if they beat Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday.

In addition to the league title, Celtic are also eyeing a domestic treble, having already won the League Cup. They thumped St Johnstone 5-0 at Hampden on Sunday to set up a Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen in just over a month’s time.

As quoted in The Scottish Sun, Mendilibar said: “I have already made my decisions about the players who will stay and who will go at the end of the season. And it will be very difficult for them to change my mind in the remaining games of the season.”

Palma’s situation is set to be resolved in the coming weeks, with Celtic fans eagerly awaiting news on the winger’s future. Will Palma make a successful return to Parkhead, or will he move on to pastures new? Only time will tell.

In related news, Celtic are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer, with several players linked to the club. Stay up to date with all the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page.

Mendilibar’s Olympiacos secured the Greek title earlier this month, with Palma playing a peripheral role in the team’s success. The winger’s future at Olympiacos is uncertain, with the club yet to exercise their £3.5million buy clause to sign him permanently.

As The Scottish Sun previously reported, Palma was shunted out on loan in January after a disappointing first half of the season at Celtic, where he made just one league start. His loan spell at Olympiacos may be coming to an end, with a return to Parkhead on the cards.
