Celtics’ Tatum Sidelined: Star Forward Spotted in Wheelchair with Leg Injury

Boston Celtics Star Jayson Tatum Suffers Leg Injury in Playoff Game

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was carried off the court with a lower right leg injury during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday night, casting a shadow over the team’s chances of extending their NBA title reign. According to NBC News, the injury occurred with 2:58 remaining in the game, which the New York Knicks won 121-113 to take a 3-1 lead in the series.

The incident happened when Tatum lunged forward toward a loose ball after a Celtics turnover, but his leg gave out and he went down. As reported by NBC News, Tatum buried his face in a towel in obvious pain while grabbing at his leg above the ankle after the non-contact injury. The severity of the injury is yet to be determined, but Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla confirmed that Tatum will undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday.

“We’re concerned about his health, where he’s at, and we’re concerned about what we have to do better for Game 5 when we get back to Boston,” Mazzulla said, as quoted by NBC News. The Celtics will need to win Game 5 to extend their title hopes, and the potential loss of Tatum could be a significant blow to their chances.

Tatum had an impressive game before the injury, scoring 42 points, his high in these playoffs. As NBC News reported, he was seen burying his face in his hands as he was pushed down a tunnel in a wheelchair after leaving the floor. The eight-year veteran has been a key player for the Celtics, leading the team to its 18th championship last year.

The Celtics will need to regroup and assess the situation before Game 5 on Wednesday. As NBC News noted, Tatum’s injury could have significant implications for the team’s title hopes. The NBC News report confirmed that Tatum won his first NBA title last year when he led Boston to its 18th championship.

In related news, the Celtics will look to bounce back from the loss and stay alive in the playoffs. The team will be eager to get an update on Tatum’s condition and determine the best course of action for the remainder of the series. According to NBC News, the Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla will be keeping a close eye on the situation and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
