Production on the highly anticipated superhero film, Avengers: Doomsday, has officially begun, with Chris Hemsworth spotted on set sporting a familiar look. According to a report from Comic Book Movie, stunt performer Bobby Holland Hanton shared a photo of Hemsworth arriving on set, while the actor himself followed up with an Instagram video showcasing his physical preparation for the role.
In the video, Hemsworth can be seen pounding a punching bag as he gets in some last-minute training for his return as the God of Thunder. Notably, Hemsworth is sporting the shorter "Gladiator Thor" hairdo he debuted in Thor: Ragnarök and kept for Avengers: Infinity War. This look aligns with leaked concept art that surfaced online a few months ago, suggesting that Hemsworth may be sticking with this hairstyle for the upcoming film.
As reported by Comic Book Movie, it’s been a while since we’ve seen or heard from Thor, following the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, where he adopted Gorr the God Butcher’s resurrected daughter. It’s assumed that he will be back to lead, or co-lead, the new team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) and his forces. However, recent rumors suggest that Hemsworth may not be playing the same God of Thunder we remember.
The Russo brothers, who directed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, will be helming both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
