Darts Star Sherrock Takes Break, Drops Heartbreaking Revelation

Fallon Sherrock to Take Break from Professional Darts to Prioritise Health

Professional darts player Fallon Sherrock has announced that she will be taking a break from the sport in the coming year to focus on her health. The 30-year-old has been struggling with health issues in recent months, which have significantly impacted her ability to practice and compete.

According to an interview with Online Darts, Sherrock has been finding it difficult to manage her training and has had to pull out of some exhibitions recently due to a lack of stamina. “All I want to do is practice at home for a couple of hours a day, and I can’t do that at the moment,” Sherrock admitted. “I’ve had to pull out of some exhibitions recently as well, because I haven’t had the stamina.”

Sherrock, as reported by GB News, remains determined to qualify for both the Grand Slam of Darts and the PDC World Darts Championship later this year before stepping away from competition. “My main objective this year is obviously the Worlds. But I want to try and get to the Grand Slam this year, because I feel like if I am going to have a year out next year, I want to make a bang,” she explained.

The news of Sherrock’s break from professional darts comes as a shock to fans, particularly given her trailblazing performance at the 2020 PDC World Darts Championship. Sherrock became the first woman to defeat a man on the Alexandra Palace stage, defeating Ted Evetts in the opening round and Mensur Suljovic in the second, before eventually bowing out in the third round to Chris Dobey.

Her impressive performance earned her the nickname ‘The Queen of the Palace’, as well as invitations to several World Series of Darts events and worldwide recognition as one of the biggest names in the sport. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic brought much of that momentum to a halt, as a number of international tournaments were cancelled or postponed.

In recent months, Sherrock’s health problems have severely limited her participation in tournaments. “I really wanted to play in the Women’s Week at Modus, but I wasn’t able to do the whole week of that. So I’ve had to narrow down what I’m playing in now, and that hurts because I love darts,” she said.

Despite her current struggles, Sherrock remains optimistic about her future return to the sport. “Fingers crossed though, that in a couple of years time I’ll be alright and I’ll be back to winning really well,” she added. “I just need to sort myself out,” Sherrock concludes. “I need to get myself well again and then once I do, the sky is the limit because I know I can do it.”

As reported by GB News, Sherrock’s determination to return to the sport is clear, and fans will be eagerly awaiting her comeback. For now, Sherrock will focus on her health and aim to qualify for the major tournaments later this year.

Sherrock made the headlines globally after her historic win at the PDC World Darts Championship in 2020. This information was provided by GB News and according to them, Sherrock is looking forward to making a bang in the Grand Slam of Darts.

The publication, GB News, also reported that Sherrock is eager to participate in as many events as possible before her break. “I’m going to try and get to everything, then even if I’m not playing to my 100 per cent, at least I can say that I made it,” she said.

The darts community will be keeping a close eye on Sherrock’s progress as she prepares for her upcoming tournaments and her eventual return to the sport.
