Days of Play 2025: Sony Slashes PS5, PS5 Pro Prices

Sony Confirms Discounts on PS5 Consoles and Accessories Ahead of Days of Play 2025

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has confirmed that it will be offering discounts on its PS5 consoles and accessories as part of its Days of Play 2025 promotion. The event, which kicks off on May 28 and runs to June 11, will see discounts on PS5 console offerings, including the PlayStation 5 console – Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Bundle (Digital and Standard) in the United States and Canada, starting at $399.99 USD / $509.99 CAD.

According to the source, IGN, the discounts will be available across various regions, with the PlayStation 5 console (Digital and Standard) on promotion in select regions such as Europe and Asia, starting at €399.99 / £339.99 / ¥65,980. Additionally, there will be a $50 USD discount on the PlayStation 5 Pro console.

The Days of Play 2025 promotion will also include offers on PS5 accessories and games, including $50 USD off PlayStation VR2 and PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle, $30 USD off Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, and $30 USD off DualSense Edge wireless controller. Various discounts will also be available on PS5 games, including Astro Bot, MLB The Show 25, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and LEGO Horizon Adventures.

Players who join PlayStation Plus during this year’s Days of Play can save up to 33% on select 12-month memberships. For players who are currently a PlayStation Plus Essential or Extra member, they can save 33% on the remainder of their membership when upgrading to PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe.

This news comes as a reliable leaker, Billbil-kun, had previously suggested that Sony would soon announce price cuts to both its base PS5 and PS5 Pro, but only in Europe. The leaker believed that May’s Days of Play 2025 promotion would be accompanied by cuts to its hardware, including a hefty €100 discount on the cost of standard PS5 consoles, and €50 off the PS5 Pro and PSVR2 headsets.

As reported by IGN, Sony had previously announced that it was raising the recommended retail prices of PS5 consoles across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, citing “a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates” as the catalyst for the increase. This was followed by a similar price bump for Microsoft’s consoles at the beginning of May.

The Days of Play 2025 promotion is set to kick off on May 28 and will run until June 11. Players can expect to see a number of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hardware bundles announced later this week, although prices are currently unclear for regions outside of Europe.

Vikki Blake, a reporter for IGN, noted that the promotion will offer various discounts and deals, and that players should keep an eye out for further announcements in the coming days.
