Dua Lipa and Callum Turner Make Stunning Met Gala Debut
The highly anticipated 2025 Met Gala, celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 5, 2025. Among the A-list guests who walked the red carpet were singer Dua Lipa and her boyfriend, actor Callum Turner. According to Harper’s Bazaar, the couple made their Met Gala debut in style, donning coordinating black Chanel looks that exuded elegance and sophistication.
As reported by Harper’s Bazaar, Lipa, 29, was the epitome of Chanel cool in a striking black dress featuring a sheer halter neck and skirt, crystals, a criss-crossing bodice, and a feather skirt. The "Houdini" singer elevated her look with layers of diamonds adorning her ears and neck, as well as sheer black opera gloves dotted with crystals and a sleek hairdo topped with kiss curls, a red carpet trend at this year’s Met. As noted by Harper’s Bazaar, the dress was a masterpiece from the French fashion house, and Lipa’s accessories added a touch of glamour to her overall look.
Turner, 27, looked dapper in a black double-breasted suit, silky white shirt, black dress shoes, and a patterned ivory Chanel tie. The couple’s red-carpet appearance came hours after they danced the night away at Charli XCX’s concert in Brooklyn. As Harper’s Bazaar reported, this marked Lipa’s first Met Gala appearance with her beau, and they certainly made a lasting impression.
Lipa has become a staple on many high-profile red carpets, including the Met Gala, but this was her first time attending the event with her partner. Harper’s Bazaar previously reported that Lipa also wore Chanel to the 2023 Met Gala, where she looked like a Hollywood princess in a white tweed ball gown with woven black trim. The piece, which originally debuted on the runway in 1992, was worn by Claudia Schiffer. To up the ante, Lipa frosted herself in diamonds from Tiffany & Co., becoming the first person to ever wear the legendary Lucida Star Necklace, reportedly worth more than $10 million, reset with a diamond that mirrored the proportions of the famous Tiffany Diamond.
As Harper’s Bazaar noted, Lipa’s love for Chanel continued at the 2023 Met Gala after-parties, where she repped the French house in a sporty black bra and matching biker shorts from the Spring/Summer 2022 collection. Underneath the shorts, she wore black sheer tights stamped with Chanel’s CC logo, as well as black pumps with pearls on the heels. The singer layered on strings of vintage pearl-and-chain Chanel necklaces, continuing her high jewelry streak.
