EastEnders Exits Confirmed Amid Tragic Death Storyline
A number of characters have bid farewell to Albert Square in the latest episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One and can be streamed on iPlayer. According to a report by Metro.co.uk, the exits were confirmed amid a tragic death storyline.
The soap has seen a significant number of comings and goings this year, largely due to its 40th anniversary celebrations in February. The latest episode saw the departure of several characters, including Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), Arthur Slater (Rocco Brenner), and Hope Slater (Isabelle Smith).
The exits come after the death of Martin Fowler (James Bye), who was killed in a devastating explosion at The Queen Vic pub. The storyline has had a significant impact on the characters, particularly Stacey, who has struggled to cope with the loss of her ex-husband.
As reported by Metro.co.uk, Stacey’s family has been struggling to cope with the aftermath of Martin’s death. Her mother, Jean (Gillian Taylforth), had been left to run the household and scramble for cash to support the large family. However, Jean eventually left, leaving Stacey’s teenage daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) to take charge.
The report by Metro.co.uk states that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) formed an action plan to support Stacey and urged her to get her act together. In the latest episode, Stacey decided to brave the outside world and was spooked by the memorial for Martin.
The gravity of the situation suddenly hit her, and she found comfort in Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa). She reflected on her ex-husband Bradley (Charlie Clements), who met the same fate as Martin. Stacey then told Kat that she intended to make a big family dinner, which didn’t exactly go to plan.
As reported by Metro.co.uk, an argument between Stacey and Lily ensued, with the youngster deciding that she needed time away to recover from a traumatic few months. After packing her bags to stay with her birth father Ryan (Neil McDermott), Stacey came to a similar conclusion.
Alongside Arthur and Hope, they packed away photos of Martin into a shoebox and decided to spend some time with Lynne Slater (Elaine Lordan). Although Martin wasn’t there anymore, he’d always be by their side.
The article by Metro.co.uk confirms that EastEnders continues tonight at 7:30 pm on BBC One. If you’ve got a soap or TV story, video or pictures, get in touch by emailing [email protected] – Metro.co.uk would love to hear from you.
