EuroMillions Jackpot Rolls Over to Record-Breaking £199 Million
The EuroMillions jackpot has rolled over to Tuesday’s draw, with the prize pot now standing at a record-breaking £199 million. This makes it the largest ever seen in the UK, according to National Lottery operator Allwyn. The jackpot was not won on Friday, and as a result, it has increased to a staggering amount that could make one lucky ticket holder the UK’s biggest lottery winner.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn – operator of The National Lottery, said: “We are now on the verge of creating the biggest National Lottery winner this country has ever seen, as the EuroMillions jackpot will be an estimated £199 million this Tuesday. If a single UK ticket-holder wins the lot, they’ll instantly become richer than the likes of Dua Lipa and Harry Kane whilst landing at the number one spot of The National Lottery’s biggest wins. Get your tickets early to ensure you’ll be in with a chance of a massive life-changing win.” This was reported by the Liverpool Echo.
The current record jackpot was won by an anonymous UK ticket-holder on July 19, 2022, for £195 million. Prior to this, Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester won £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket on May 10, 2022. The UK’s third biggest win was £177 million, scooped by an anonymous ticket-holder on November 26 last year. The biggest win so far this year was £83 million in January, according to the Liverpool Echo.
In other lottery news, one player scooped the £3.9 million Lotto jackpot on Saturday. The ticket-holder matched all six main numbers to win the top prize of £3,966,543. Three players also won £1 million each after matching five out of six numbers, plus the bonus ball. The National Lottery Lotto winning numbers were 08, 11, 12, 16, 20, and 33, with a bonus number of 52. The draw used balls nine and draw machine Guinevere.
A single ticket-holder won last Saturday’s £3.8 million jackpot, and two players split the £2 million top prize in the draw on May 21. Eight more people became millionaires by matching five main numbers and the bonus ball across those two draws. However, no one bagged the Lotto HotPicks jackpot of £350,000, but 30 players matched four out of five numbers to win £13,000. HotPicks uses the same numbers as the Lotto draw, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
The winning Thunderball numbers for Saturday were 03, 05, 13, 18, and 26, with a Thunderball of 02. Unfortunately, no one matched all five numbers and the Thunderball to scoop the £500,000 top prize. However, seven ticket-holders matched five numbers to win £5,000. With the EuroMillions jackpot now at a record-breaking £199 million, ticket holders have until Tuesday to purchase their tickets and be in with a chance of winning.
In order to participate in the record-breaking draw, Liverpool Echo readers are encouraged to purchase their EuroMillions tickets before the deadline. This will ensure that they have a chance to win the life-changing amount. As the jackpot continues to grow, it remains to be seen whether one lucky ticket holder will become the UK’s biggest lottery winner. The draw will take place on Tuesday, and the winning numbers will be announced shortly after.
