Warner Bros. Announces 007: Sean Connery 6-Film Collection in 4K Ultra HD

In a significant move, Warner Bros. has officially announced the release of the 007: Sean Connery 6-Film Collection in 4K Ultra HD, which is set to hit the market on June 10th. This collection, as reported by The Digital Bits, will be available in both standard Elite packaging and Limited Edition Steelbook formats.

The collection includes six iconic James Bond films, namely Terence Young’s Dr. No (1962), From Russia with Love (1963), and Thunderball (1965), Guy Hamilton’s Goldfinger (1964) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971), and Lewis Gilbert’s You Only Live Twice (1967). According to The Digital Bits, these films have been mastered from new 4K scans of the original camera negatives, which is a significant improvement over previous releases.

Each film in the collection will feature both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. However, it’s worth noting that Blu-ray versions are not included in this release, only the 4K discs and Digital Copy codes. The Digital Bits reports that special features, if any, have not been disclosed yet.

The Digital Bits has obtained the cover artwork for the collection, which is available on Amazon. This release is a significant addition to the James Bond film franchise, offering fans a chance to experience the early Bond films in stunning 4K Ultra HD.

A24 Shop Announces Pre-Orders for Warfare on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD

A24 Shop has started taking pre-orders for special Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD editions of Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland’s Warfare (2025). According to The Digital Bits, the disc will feature the film in the 2:1 theatrical aspect ratio with both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

The package will include several extras, including audio commentary by the directors and military consultant Brian Philpot, the Courage Under Fire: The Making of Warfare featurette, and 6 collectible postcards with photographs by Alex Brockdorff.

Universal to Release Jaws: 50th Anniversary Edition on 4K Ultra HD

Universal has announced a new Jaws: 50th Anniversary Edition for release on 4K Ultra HD, 4K Steelbook, Blu-ray Disc, and Digital on June 17th. The Digital Bits reports that the 4K disc will include Dolby Vision HDR (along with HDR10 and 10+) as well as the previous Dolby Atmos sound mix.

The package will also feature a new documentary from Laurent Bouzereau and National Geographic, Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story. Additionally, over five hours of legacy special features will be included.

GKids and Studio Ghibli to Release Grave of the Fireflies on Blu-ray

GKids and Studio Ghibli (via Shout! Factory) are set to release Isao Takahata’s animated Grave of the Fireflies (1988) on Blu-ray + DVD and Blu-ray + DVD Steelbook on July 8th. According to The Digital Bits, the package will include feature-length storyboards, deleted scenes storyboards, interviews with Takahata and Roger Ebert, a promotional video, image galleries, and teasers and trailers.

Shout! Factory Announces July Slate of Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Titles

Shout! Factory has announced their July slate of Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD titles, which includes Mike Nichols’ Primary Colors (1998) (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray) and Oliver Stone’s Alexander Revisited: The Final Cut (2004/2007) (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray) on July 1st.

Other titles include Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin’s Abigail (2024) (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray) on July 8th, a wide-release version of the Wallace & Gromit: The Complete Cracking Collection (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray) and Jimmy T. Murakami’s Battle Beyond the Stars (1980) (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray) on July 15th.

Eureka Announces Limited Edition Release of The Old Dark House on 4K Ultra HD

Eureka has revealed that they will be releasing James Whale’s The Old Dark House (1932) as a limited edition 4K Ultra HD on July 28th in the UK. The Digital Bits reports that the release will include Dolby Vision HDR and uncompressed LPCM audio, along with several audio commentaries and featurettes.
