Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro, who have been quietly dating since February, reunited after the 2025 Met Gala in New York City. The couple, who were seen attending a show in London and an afterparty thrown by Beyoncé and Jay-Z following the 2025 Oscars, did not make their romance red carpet official at the Met Gala. However, they met up shortly after the event.
According to PEOPLE, who first confirmed the two were dating in February, Garfield, 41, waited for Barbaro, 34, at The Mark Hotel after the Monday, May 5, event, which had a "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" theme. Video footage captured by Cosmopolitan shows Garfield, wearing a casual look consisting of a black graphic tee underneath a blue button-up and slacks, smiling as he waited for Barbaro.
In the clip, Barbaro is seen greeting Garfield with a hug. She was wearing a black tulle embroidered Fall-Winter 2025 Dior dress that she paired with a black Lady Dior bag, which was different from what she wore to the Met Gala. For the event, Barbaro wore a recreation of a 1947 New Look design by Dior, a white jacket with a pleated black tulle skirt, accessorized with black gloves and a boater hat.
This marked Barbaro’s debut at fashion’s biggest night, while Garfield has not attended the Met Gala since 2019. PEOPLE reports that the couple have "been really lowkey and have been spending time together quietly," according to a source.
The couple were first photographed together at W Magazine’s Best Performances party in Los Angeles on January 4, along with Eddie Redmayne and Lynn Hirschberg. They were later seen in February at a performance of Richard II at the Bridge Theatre on London’s West End, starring Jonathan Bailey.
In a video posted on social media on February 20, Garfield and Barbaro, who were dressed casually, could be seen chatting before the show began. The couple’s relationship has been making headlines, with sightings of the two together at various events.
As reported by PEOPLE, "Reps for both actors did not respond to requests for comment at the time." However, it is clear that Garfield and Barbaro are enjoying each other’s company and taking their relationship to the next level.
