Glastonbury 2025: Lineup Revealed, But Mystery Surrounds Patchwork Act

Glastonbury Festival Lineup Announced: Patchwork and Secret Sets Added to the Bill
The highly anticipated Glastonbury festival has announced its full lineup of over 3,000 performances, scheduled to take place between June 25th and 29th. According to The Guardian, the festival will feature a number of new artists on the main stages, along with timings and a series of secret sets.

One of the most intriguing additions to the lineup is an act called Patchwork, who will be performing on the Pyramid stage on Saturday night at 6:15 pm, sandwiched between John Fogerty and Raye and Neil Young. As reported by The Guardian, Glastonbury organisers have remained tight-lipped about the mysterious act, leaving fans speculating about their identity. It is not uncommon for Glastonbury to feature lesser-known artists who later turn out to be big names, as seen in 2023 when the Churnups, who played on the Pyramid stage, were revealed to be Foo Fighters.

The Pyramid stage will also host a "to be announced" slot on Friday afternoon, while the Woodsies stage will feature a secret set on Friday morning, a spot that has previously hosted surprise performances from Kasabian and the Killers. Additionally, the Park stage will have a "to be announced" slot on Saturday evening, a stage that has previously featured secret guests such as Pulp and Jack White. As The Guardian notes, Four Tet, a likely addition to the lineup, is expected to perform on the Tree stage, based on his Spotify playlist.

New artist additions to the Other stage include drum’n’bass legends Fabio & Grooverider, who will be opening on Friday with symphonic arrangements by the Outlook Orchestra. They will be joined by pop artists Rizzle Kicks and Good Neighbours, and singer-songwriters Nadine Shah and Louis Dunford. The West Holts stage will feature Glass Beams and Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, while Jalen Ngonda, Ichiko Aoba, Horsegirl, John Glacier, and Geordie Greep will be performing on the Park stage.

The festival will also host a range of Hollywood names doing Q&A sessions and talks at the Pilton Palais cinema, including Margot Robbie, Paul Mescal, Andrew Garfield, Tilda Swinton, Ncuti Gatwa, Jodie Comer, Taron Egerton, Edgar Wright, and Jesse Armstrong. Actor Dominic West and TV presenter Alice Roberts will dispense wisdom at the Free University of Glastonbury, while debaters at the Speakers Forum will include MPs Ellie Chowns and Clive Lewis, along with names such as Dale Vince, Asif Kapadia, and Owen Jones.

In a series of events to open the festival, Glastonbury organisers have announced a rare Wednesday night event on the Pyramid stage entitled "Look to the Skies." This theatre and circus show will feature "a breathtaking aerial odyssey, with high wire walkers, acrobats and incredible circus performances," according to The Guardian. The event will complement the usual opening ceremony at the Green Fields, where a "flame of hope" made up of "15 sacred flames from around the world" will be "honoured with a thousand voices who will unite in a powerful mantra for Peace."

As the lineup was announced, fans took to social media to spot potential clashes, including two of the most talked-about names in global pop: Charli xcx and Doechii, who will be playing on different stages at the same time on Saturday night. Meanwhile, Kneecap, a punkish Northern Ireland rap-rave trio, will be performing on the West Holts stage on Saturday at 4 pm. However, their appearance has been met with controversy after footage emerged of them allegedly making inflammatory comments.

The full lineup for Glastonbury 2025 is available on the festival’s website, and this year’s app is set to go live later in the week. Fans will be eagerly anticipating the festival, which promises to be an exciting and unpredictable event.

The Guardian has confirmed that the Look to the Skies event is a rare occurrence on the Pyramid stage, with the last theatre and circus show taking place in 1990. Furthermore, according to The Guardian, Glastonbury’s "flame of hope" ceremony aims to promote unity and peace.

In related news, it appears that controversy will surround this year’s Glastonbury after statements made by Irish rap-rave group Kneecap. As per The Guardian, following comments made by the group, Commons leader and cabinet minister Lucy Powell called for their exclusion from the festival lineup.

You can find more information about Glastonbury and its full lineup on the festival’s official website, as reported by The Guardian.
