Summer Transfer Window 2025: Most Expensive Players and Biggest Deals
The 2025 summer transfer window is yet to open, but a flurry of deals has already been agreed upon. According to Football365, this list is set to change multiple times over the coming months.
For those interested in Premier League transfers specifically, Football365 has compiled a comprehensive list. Players are ranked by the size of the initial fee, with add-ons stated.
Top 20 Most Expensive Transfers
At the top of the list is Dean Huijsen, who is set to join Real Madrid from Bournemouth for a fee of £50m. Football365 reports that Real Madrid matched Huijsen’s release clause just a year after he joined the Cherries for £12.6m. The fee will be paid in three instalments by Real, with his former clubs Juventus due 10% and Malaga 5%.
Chelsea has secured the signing of Estevao from Palmeiras for a fee of £29m, rising to £52m with add-ons. Football365 states that the 17-year-old winger joins Chelsea after the Club World Cup, beating off competition from Bayern Munich, Paris St-Germain, and Manchester City.
Other notable transfers include Yan Couto, who joins Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City for £25m. Football365 notes that the Brazil international has never played a game for Manchester City, but this is not unusual. The third club he joined on loan could afford to trigger an obligation to buy.
The list continues with Nicolas Gonzales joining Juventus from Fiorentina for £21m, rising to £25m with add-ons. Football365 reports that the Argentine winger joined Juventus on loan last summer with an obligation to buy.
Tottenham has agreed to sign Kevin Danso from Lens for £21m. Football365 states that there was a January panic amid injury issues, leading Spurs to agree a loan with an obligation to buy.
Mid-Table Transfers
The list also features Dario Essugo, who joins Chelsea from Sporting for £18.5m. Football365 reports that the 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder has signed a seven-year contract and is expected to act as a deputy to Moises Caicedo.
Arthur Vermeeren joins RB Leipzig from Atletico Madrid for £16.9m. Football365 notes that the Spanish club did well to pocket a small profit on Vermeeren, whose loan to Germany triggered a permanent deal.
Wendel is set to join Botafogo from Zenit St Petersburg for £16.9m. Football365 reports that after two years in Portugal and five years in Russia, Wendel is moving back to Brazil.
Lower-End Transfers
The list also includes Lloyd Kelly, who joins Juventus from Newcastle United for £14.5m. Football365 states that a year after signing for Newcastle on a free transfer and failing to get past Dan Burn and Fabian Schar, Kelly is a first-choice Juventus defender.
Other transfers include Ezechiel Banzuzi, who joins RB Leipzig from OH Leuven for £13.5m. Football365 reports that the German club loves a young, promising footballer and Banzuzi is exactly that.
Gabriel Carvalho joins Al Qadsiah from Internacional for £13.2m. Football365 notes that the teenager will officially complete his move to Saudi Arabia as soon as he turns 18 in August.
Mohamed Amoura joins Wolfsburg from Union SG for £12.7m. Football365 reports that the German club have made their loan move permanent after a 10-goal, 12-assist Bundesliga season.
