Gracie Abrams Teases New Music on TikTok, Olivia Rodrigo Shows Support
Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams has taken to TikTok to tease her new music, and it’s got fans and fellow artists alike buzzing with excitement. The "That’s So True" singer posted a clip of herself vibing out to a demo, with a friend dancing in the background. The synthy track features Abrams singing, "It’s violent how I need you."
According to Billboard, one of the many fans who shared their enthusiasm in the comments was none other than Olivia Rodrigo, who simply wrote, "hell yeah." Abrams and Rodrigo have a history of supporting each other, with Abrams opening for Rodrigo on her Sour Tour back in 2022.
In an interview with Billboard, Abrams gushed about the opportunity to open for Rodrigo, saying, "She gave me such a shot, opening for her … I adore her with my whole heart for forever and ever." Rodrigo also praised Abrams, telling Billboard that Abrams has a "singular voice when it comes to songwriting."
Abrams hasn’t released new music since her The Secret of Us deluxe arrived last October, which featured the Billboard Hot 100 hit "That’s So True." The Los Angeles native has been teasing new music for some time, and it seems like it’s finally on the horizon. Billboard reports that Abrams posted another video of herself in the car, listening to the same snippet, seemingly teasing further that she has a new project on the way.
Rodrigo has also been quiet on the music front, with her Guts deluxe dropping in March 2024. The expanded project featured new songs "Obsessed," "Girl I’ve Always Been," "Scared of My Guitar," "Stranger," and "So American," some of which she performed during her headlining set at Gov Ball in New York City on Saturday (June 7).
As reported by Billboard, it’s clear that Abrams and Rodrigo are excited about their respective projects, and fans are eagerly awaiting new music from both artists. With Rodrigo’s comment of support on Abrams’ TikTok post, it’s clear that these two talented young artists have a strong mutual respect for each other’s work.
Fans can keep up with Abrams and Rodrigo’s latest projects by following them on social media and checking out their music on streaming platforms. In the meantime, Abrams’ new music teaser is available to view on TikTok, and Rodrigo’s Guts deluxe is currently available to stream.
