Greater Manchester Braces for Fresh Weather Shift, Met Office Updates Forecast

Temperatures Set to Soar in Greater Manchester After Mild Bank Holiday Weekend

A welcome return to warmer weather is forecast for Greater Manchester this week, following a mild Bank Holiday weekend. The region can expect sunshine and rising temperatures, with highs of 23C predicted in some areas by the end of the week.

According to the Met Office, the UK experienced its hottest start to May on record, with temperatures peaking at 29.3C in Kew Gardens in west London. The country also enjoyed its sunniest April since records began in 1910, with 47% more sunshine hours than the long-term meteorological average.

However, after a prolonged period of warm and sunny weather, temperatures have dropped significantly across the country. On Sunday, Greater Manchester experienced mainly cloudy skies with sunny intervals and highs of just 13C, although it felt more like 10C. Monday, May 5, has seen a slight rise in temperatures, with highs of 15C and some brighter, sunny spells.

The Met Office has confirmed that the sunshine will return to the region from Tuesday, with highs of 18C expected through to Thursday. The weather service stated: "Another dry and settled day is on the cards on Tuesday. Winds will be light and with plenty of strong sunshine developing it will begin to feel quite warm again."

From Friday, temperatures are expected to rise further, with highs of 21C predicted in some parts of the region. The Met Office forecast adds: "The remainder of the week will see high pressure dominating. It will stay dry with sunshine at times. Though a breeze develops again, temperatures will be on the warm side."

This weekend is also looking promising, with peaks of 23C expected in some areas of Greater Manchester on Saturday and Sunday. The Met Office shared its forecast for the UK this coming weekend, stating: "Dry across the vast majority of the UK with clear or sunny spells but also some patchy cloud. Cloud will likely thicken across the far north and northwest during the weekend with some outbreaks of rain for a time. Temperatures are likely to be slightly above normal for the time of year, although there is a chance of some cold nights."

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the region can expect a warm and sunny spell, perfect for outdoor activities and events. The Manchester Evening News will continue to provide updates on the weather forecast as the week progresses.

The warm weather is expected to bring relief to residents and boost the local economy, with outdoor events and activities likely to attract large crowds. As the Manchester Evening News reported, the sunshine and warmer weather will be a welcome respite from the cooler temperatures experienced over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Met Office has confirmed that its forecast is based on the latest available data and will continue to monitor the weather situation closely. Residents are advised to check the latest forecast and weather updates regularly for the most up-to-date information.

In summary, Greater Manchester can expect a warm and sunny week ahead, with temperatures set to soar to highs of 23C in some areas by the end of the week. The Manchester Evening News will continue to provide updates on the weather forecast, and residents can enjoy the warmer weather and outdoor activities as the week progresses.
