Hearts FC Confirm Pre-Season Training Camp in Spain
Hearts FC manager Derek McInnes has confirmed that his team will head to Spain for a pre-season training camp at the end of this month, as reported by the Official Hearts Website. The Jambos will travel to the Iberian east coast on June 28th for a seven-day warm weather training session to prepare for the 2025/26 campaign.
According to the Official Hearts Website, the team will undergo a week of intense training, including double and triple sessions, as well as gym work, to get them in shape for the season opener against Dunfermline Athletic on July 12th. The training camp will provide the players with a challenging and gruelling programme, allowing them to acclimatise to the heat and build their endurance.
The Official Hearts Website reports that the team will also play a closed-doors friendly match against English League Two side Crawley Town, which will round off a testing week in the Spanish heat. This match will provide the players with an opportunity to put their skills into practice and test themselves against a competitive opponent.
Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Derek McInnes emphasised the importance of the training camp, saying: “Trips like these are a vital part of preparing properly for the season ahead. The benefits the players will get from intense training sessions in that kind of heat are clear, and that is crucial for us as we look to hit the ground running when the season starts.”
The Official Hearts Website quotes McInnes as saying that the training camp will also provide an opportunity for the players to bond and build relationships. He said: “It’s also good for the players to spend time with each other. We’ve got some new faces, mine included, so for everyone to be in the one place and around each other for a whole week will be great for building relationships.”
The Hearts FC manager is clearly enthusiastic about the training camp and its potential benefits for the team. As the Official Hearts Website reports, McInnes believes that the intense training sessions in the heat will be crucial in preparing the players for the demands of the upcoming season.
The pre-season training camp in Spain is a significant part of Hearts FC’s preparations for the 2025/26 campaign. With a busy schedule of training sessions and a friendly match against Crawley Town, the team will be pushed to their limits as they look to build their strength and endurance. As reported by the Official Hearts Website, the team’s manager Derek McInnes is confident that the training camp will pay dividends when the season starts.
