I Outsmarted Ronaldinho, Now I’m Heading to League Two Play-off Final

Albert Adomah: The Walsall Winger with a Flair for the Dramatic

Albert Adomah, the Walsall winger, is set to face AFC Wimbledon in Monday’s League Two play-off final, and he has a wealth of experience to draw upon. The 37-year-old has played for some of the biggest clubs in English football, including Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, and Middlesbrough.

According to The Sun, Adomah has a remarkable story to tell, having played against some of the greatest players in the world, including Ronaldinho. In 2011, Adomah played for Ghana against Brazil at Craven Cottage, and he revealed that he was up against a star-studded line-up, including Neymar, Alexandre Pato, Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Marcelo, Fernandinho, and Lucas.

Adomah told The Sun: “Before I became a professional footballer, I used to do Ronaldinho skills in street and cage football. I tried to imitate his skills, so to be on the same pitch as such an iconic figure was a wow moment of my career.”

The winger revealed that he even managed to beat Ronaldinho with a trademark stepover during the game. He said: “And during the game, I did his trademark stepover. I’ve got a picture of me going past him. I thought, ‘I’ve just skipped past the most skillful player ever.'”

Brazil won the game 1-0, but Adomah was thrilled to have played against some of the best players in the world. He added: “It was like a star-studded who’s who of football.”

Adomah’s career has been a remarkable journey, taking him from the Isthmian League with Harrow Borough to the Premier League with Middlesbrough. He has also played for QPR and Aston Villa, helping the latter earn promotion back to the top flight.

This season, Adomah has been a crucial player for Walsall, featuring in 53 games, 34 of which he came on as a substitute. Despite his advanced age, he remains one of the fittest players at the club, and his experience and energy have been invaluable to the team.

As reported by The Sun, Adomah said: “It’s about keeping fit. Last season, I only played 18 games for QPR. You get to a certain point in your career where the manager decides whether he wants to select you or go for a younger player.”

The winger is looking to add another chapter to his impressive career, with a victory in the play-off final against AFC Wimbledon. He said: “Promotion with Villa was a huge relief for everyone at the club because we’d failed the previous two seasons.”

Adomah has had his fair share of disappointments, including losing in play-off finals with Middlesbrough and Aston Villa. However, he remains optimistic about Walsall’s chances and is determined to help the team achieve success.

As The Sun reported, Adomah said: “Losing a play-off final is the worst feeling in football. You just want to get out of the stadium straight away. Yet when you win, you want to stay there until the next day and celebrate.”

With his experience, skill, and determination, Adomah will be a key player for Walsall in the play-off final. Will he be able to help his team achieve victory and earn promotion to League One?

The answer will have to wait until Monday, but one thing is certain – Albert Adomah is a player with a flair for the dramatic, and he will give it his all in the pursuit of glory with Walsall.
