IPL Rivalry Heats Up: Rahul’s Alleged Betrayal Sparks LSG-DC Tension

DC’s Vipraj Nigam Reveals Team’s Strategy Against LSG, Praises KL Rahul’s Insight

In a pre-match press conference, Delhi Capitals (DC) all-rounder Vipraj Nigam shared that the team will be using KL Rahul’s insight during their upcoming IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday. According to NDTV Sports, Rahul, the former captain of LSG, has been sharing valuable information with his new teammates at DC.

Rahul’s stint as LSG captain ended abruptly last year when he was not retained by the team before the IPL 2025 mega auction. His departure followed a reported fallout with LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka after a heated exchange, which came on the back of a heavy defeat to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, Rahul has found a new lease of life at DC, where he has been playing with more freedom and helping youngsters like Vipraj Nigam with his guidance.

"Not specifically for this match, but I do get advice from seniors in every game on how to perform better," Nigam said, as quoted by NDTV Sports. "Regarding Rahul bhaiya, yes, he helps, especially since he’s played with some players who were part of Lucknow last year and are still with them this year. So in our team meetings, we definitely discuss that – it really helps when someone has that insight about the opposition’s bowlers and batters."

As a 20-year-old all-rounder, Nigam considers himself a versatile player who can contribute with both bat and ball. "I consider myself an all-rounder," he said. "I have to make contributions with the ball and also with the bat whenever required." When asked about playing in front of his family and home crowd, Nigam admitted that there is added pressure and nervousness, but he is determined to perform well.

The young spinner also praised the senior players at DC for providing valuable inputs and feedback. "I get advice from the seniors in every game," he said. "We do get some help from the seniors. There are some players who were in Lucknow last year and are here this year as well. We talk about those aspects in our team meetings and plan accordingly."

In terms of team updates, Nigam provided an injury update on Faf du Plessis, saying that he is recovering well but the final call on his participation will be taken by the management. DC currently have 10 points from 7 matches and have already beaten LSG once this season. With KL Rahul’s insight and the team’s current form, DC will look to cause another upset against LSG on Tuesday.

The Delhi Capitals’ strategy seems to be paying off, and with players like Vipraj Nigam and KL Rahul on their side, they will be looking to make a strong statement in the IPL 2025 season. As per NDTV Sports, the team is optimistic about their chances, and fans will be eagerly waiting to see how the match unfolds.
