Merseyside Native Shines on The Chase
A Merseyside native has spoken about her experience on the popular ITV game show, The Chase. Laura, a 35-year-old shipping line trade manager from the Wirral, appeared on today’s episode of the show and impressed host Bradley Walsh with her knowledge.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Laura, who originally hails from Liverpool, told Bradley: "I’m originally from Liverpool, but we moved over eight years ago to New Brighton." Bradley heaped praise on the region, saying: "It’s a beautiful part of the world."
Laura put in an impressive performance, earning £7,000 in the cash-builder and navigating past Jenny Ryan to book her spot in the Final Chase. The Merseyside native admitted she guessed some of the answers correctly, which impressed Bradley. The host said: "How did you get that? That was jammy."
Laura’s run of luck prompted Bradley to change her name during the episode when she progressed to the final. He said: "From henceforth you will now be known as Jammy Laura." Jenny made another suggestion, adding: "I’m a fan of an alliteration. Let’s go with lucky Laura."
The Liverpool Echo reports that Laura was one of four new quizzers who appeared on the show, along with Rod, Kiera, and Antonio. Rod, a delivery driver from Chesterfield, was the first to take on Jenny Ryan, but was eliminated after a head-to-head challenge.
Laura, a Formula One enthusiast, wanted to earn money to attend a Grand Prix in Canada. She was joined in the Final Chase by Antonio and Kiera, and they competed for a combined total of £12,000. Although the team’s luck sadly ran out in the Final Chase, they managed to build up 12 steps in the last round.

Bradley Walsh praised the team, and Antonio also progressed to the last round after a series of guesses. However, Jenny Ryan caught them with 44 seconds remaining, leaving them empty-handed.
