Kendall Jenner’s Stunning 2025 Met Gala Look: A Masterclass in Elegance
The 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5, was a star-studded event that brought together fashion’s finest for a night of glamour and philanthropy. Among the attendees was Kendall Jenner, who turned heads with her custom Torishéju look. The 29-year-old model and reality star stunned in a feminine take on the classic suit jacket, paired with a floor-length skirt and a dazzling diamond necklace.
According to People.com, Jenner’s look was inspired by Gladys Bentley and other 1920s Harlem Renaissance women [1]. The 2025 Met Gala had a star-studded host committee, including Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, as well as Doechii, Regina King, Spike Lee, Angel Reese, and Usher. The event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, was fundraising for The Costume Institute and put the spotlight on its spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which was also this year’s Met Gala theme.
As reported by People.com, the exhibition, inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, explores “the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier” [2]. Through a curation of garments, paintings, and photographs, the exhibit presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to the present through an exploration of the concept of dandyism.
Jenner’s look was just one of many memorable moments from the 2025 Met Gala. Her appearance marked a decade of memorable looks from the model, who made her “fashion prom” debut in 2014 wearing a custom blush mermaid-style Topshop gown and 82 carats of Chopard diamonds. Over the years, she has worn a range of stunning outfits, including a sheer, cutout Atelier Versace gown in 2016, a barely there see-through La Perla Haute Couture gown in 2017, and a sheer crystal-embellished Givenchy Haute Couture in 2021.
In 2022, Jenner made a bold statement by bleaching her eyebrows for a no-eyebrow look to highlight her two-piece ensemble featuring a jaw-dropping, full-bodied skirt with a long train and a sheer, nipple-baring tank top under a fishnet crop top. The following year, she opted for a sequined black bodysuit with exaggerated, floor-skimming sleeves and shimmering, sky-high platinum boots.
