Kerry Katona Opens Up About Her Relationship with Ex-Husband Brian McFadden
In her latest column for Yahoo Style UK, Kerry Katona has revealed that she wishes she could have remained friends with her ex-husband Brian McFadden following their 2004 break-up. The couple, who share daughters Molly and Lilly-Sue, have had a strained relationship since their divorce.
According to Yahoo Style UK, Kerry, 44, has been married twice since her split from Brian and has welcomed three more children: Heidi, Max, and DJ. She recently split from fiancé Ryan Mahoney and is set to appear on the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating.
In her column, Kerry expressed her admiration for couples who can co-parent and remain friends after a break-up. She cited Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow as an example, saying: “I take my hat off to anyone who can do that. I wish Brian and I could have stayed friends.” Kerry revealed that her daughter Molly recently attended one of Brian’s events, and she would have loved to have accompanied her.
As reported by Yahoo Style UK, Kerry also opened up about her health anxiety, which she says has worsened with age. She revealed that she has a lump on her armpit that needs to be monitored and recently discovered her biological family history, which includes her grandmother’s battle with breast cancer.
Kerry sent her well-wishes to Jessie J, who recently announced her early breast cancer diagnosis. She wrote: “I’m sending all my love to Jessie J after her shock breast cancer diagnosis. It’s just awful – I can’t imagine what she’s going through.” Kerry also shared her own experiences with health anxiety, saying that hearing about others’ diagnoses makes her nervous.
The star also discussed her recent appearance on Celebs Go Dating, which she has almost finished filming. She has been spending time with her family, including her daughters Lilly and Molly, who have been away in Ireland. Kerry expressed her excitement for the upcoming summer of TV, including the return of Love Island and her own show.
As Yahoo Style UK reports, Kerry congratulated Made In Chelsea couple Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo on their pregnancy, saying: “I’m so happy for Made In Chelsea couple Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, who have announced they’re having a baby.” She also expressed her loyalty to Heart FM’s Amanda Holden, joking that she cracks her up on the breakfast show.
Finally, Kerry paid tribute to Caroline Flack, the late presenter of Love Island, who passed away earlier this year. She said: “I really hope they do something to honour Caroline Flack – the show was her baby and she loved it.” Kerry expressed her disappointment that Caroline was not honoured in the show’s recent Decade Of Love special.
