Kyrgyzstan Unveils Ambitious 2025 Road Construction Agenda


Kyrgyzstan to Witness Significant Road Development by 2025

According to a report by Trend, the government of Kyrgyzstan has announced plans to build over 1,100 kilometers of new roads across the country by the end of 2025. Additionally, pothole repairs will cover an area of 135,000 square meters. This development was revealed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, Adylbek Kasymaliev, during an extended government meeting reviewing the Cabinet’s performance for the first four months of 2025.

Road construction is currently underway on several priority routes, including Balykchy–Bokonbayevo–Karakol, Balykchy–Cholpon-Ata–Karakol, Naryn–Baetov, Osh–Batken–Razzakov, Ala-Buka–Zhany-Bazar–Kirov, Bishkek–Osh, Uzgen–Myrza-Ake–Kara-Kulja, Suusamyr–Talas–Taraz, Lebedinovka–HPP-5, Bishkek–Kant, the Northern Bypass Road, Jalal-Abad–Begabad–Bazhy, Nookat–Aravan, Semenovka–Ak-Suu (Kyrchyn), five additional sections of the North–South highway, and Barpy–Safarovka, as cited in the Trend report.

Furthermore, Trend reports that Kasymaliev announced the initiation of infrastructural development for the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway, which was formally inaugurated on April 29, 2025, within the jurisdiction of the Suzak district, located in the Jalal-Abad region. The Kyrgyz segment of the rail infrastructure will encompass a total of 304.94 kilometers, integrating the engineering of 48 bridge structures and 27 subterranean passages, collectively measuring 119.69 kilometers in length. The Trend report also states that Kyrgyzstan has earmarked an incremental $85 million for the initiative.
