Man Utd Target Snubs Move as INEOS Weighs Alternatives

Manchester United Eyeing Fiorentina Striker Moise Kean as Summer Transfer Target

Manchester United have reportedly added Fiorentina striker Moise Kean to their summer transfer shortlist, according to sources. This would not be the first attempt by the Red Devils to sign the 25-year-old, as they almost lured him to the club in 2014 before his father stepped in and blocked the move in favour of remaining at Juventus. The news comes from Foot Mercato, a reputable source in the football transfer market, as cited by the Express.

The Express understands that Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has identified Kean as an option to upgrade his attack, alongside other targets such as Viktor Gyokeres, Liam Delap, and Victor Osimhen. Kean is believed to have a £42.5million release clause in his Fiorentina contract, which his suitors can trigger between July 1 and July 15. This clause could make the Italian international a more attractive target for Manchester United, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

Since joining Fiorentina in an £11m switch from Juventus last summer, Kean has found a new level to his game. He has scored 17 goals in 30 Serie A games – and 23 in all competitions – after escaping a miserable second spell in Turin. The Italy international graduated from Juventus’ academy in 2016 but never established himself in the first team, managing just 22 goals in 123 senior appearances. However, his form for Fiorentina has caught the attention of several top clubs, including Manchester United.

Interestingly, Kean could have been a Manchester United academy graduate had he moved to England two years before his breakthrough. In 2019, Kean’s father revealed that Manchester United were vying for his signature when he was 14 or 15, and that his mother wanted him to join. However, a youth transfer didn’t come to fruition, as Kean’s father wanted his son to stay at Juventus and continue developing in his homeland.

“I stopped Moise’s transfer at the time, even though his mother wanted to send him to United,” Kean’s father explained six years ago, as reported by the Express. “I said no to the transfer to United because I wanted him to stay at Juventus and learn. He was not yet mature enough to leave Italy. I was not convinced to send a young boy aged 14 or 15.” Kean spent one year in the Premier League after joining Everton from Juventus in a £25m deal, but he only notched four goals in 39 games.

The former Everton and Paris Saint-Germain frontman could be interested in a second chance to shine in the English top flight should Manchester United come calling. Amorim will want a new striker leading the line next term, with Rasmus Hojlund failing to convince since the Portuguese tactician’s arrival in November. Manchester United are also courting a more versatile forward and have identified Wolves’ Matheus Cunha as their top target in that respect. With several options being considered, it remains to be seen whether Kean will be the one to lead the line for Manchester United next season.

Manchester United’s interest in Kean is a clear indication of their ambition to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. As reported by the Express, the Red Devils are willing to invest heavily in their team, and Kean’s impressive form for Fiorentina makes him an attractive target. The Express will continue to provide updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.

According to the Express, Manchester United’s summer transfer plans are starting to take shape, with Kean emerging as a key target. The Express has learned that the club’s hierarchy is keen to bring in a new striker, and Kean’s availability could be a major factor in their decision-making process. As the transfer window approaches, the Express will be keeping a close eye on developments and providing exclusive updates for its readers.

In related news, the Express has reported that Manchester United are exploring options to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. With a number of targets being considered, the Red Devils are expected to be busy in the transfer market over the coming weeks. The Express will provide in-depth coverage of all the latest developments, bringing readers the very latest news and updates from the world of football.

Further to this, according to a source, Amorim’s tactics have been under scrutiny since his appointment, and the manager will be keen to prove his credentials with a successful summer transfer window. “It’s a make or break season for Amorim,” said a source close to the club, as cited by the Express. With several key targets being considered, the Express will be keeping a close eye on developments and providing exclusive updates for its readers.
