Massive Attack’s LIDO Festival 2025: Full Lineup Revealed

Massive Attack Announce Final Lineup for LIDO Festival 2025

In a landmark move towards environmentally conscious outdoor concerts, Massive Attack have expanded the lineup for their 100% battery-powered performance at LIDO Festival this month. The highly anticipated show will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Lido Field, Victoria Park, as part of the inaugural 10-day East London festival.

According to a report from DJ Mag, the Bristol duo will be joined by an impressive array of artists, including Hunny, Everything Is Recorded, Mad Professor, 47SOUL, and DJ Milo. This performance marks Massive Attack’s first London festival show in nine years and is part of a "landmark" series of climate-friendly events.

The festival day will be 100% battery-powered in an effort to reduce carbon emissions and air pollution, setting a gold standard for environmentally conscious outdoor concerts in the capital. Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja (3D) expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "To present London’s first ever 100% battery-powered festival day with a dynamic range of artists is an optimum outcome for us."

As reported by DJ Mag, Del Naja also highlighted the importance of combining art and science to overcome environmental challenges. "History shows it’s often the combination of art and science that overcomes the greatest challenges we face, so it’s good to see LIDO take learnings from our ACT 1.5 event last year and apply those technologies to where they see emissions coming from," he said.

Massive Attack and ACT 1.5 hosted their first climate acceleration show in Bristol last August, which marked the UK’s largest low-carbon event. The New York Times described the event as the "gold standard for green gigs," noting that it was powered entirely by renewable energy and utilised compost loos, 100% vegan food stalls, and electric buses.

The group’s LIDO headline event will mark their first climate-friendly show in London, in collaboration with United Visual Artists and documentarist, Adam Curtis. Jim King, CEO of European festivals at AEG Presents, praised Massive Attack for embracing the challenge of launching this important initiative. "Big changes require both courage and determination, and I cannot speak highly enough of Massive Attack and their team for embracing the challenge of launching this important initiative," he said.

As DJ Mag previously reported, LIDO Festival will kick off at London’s Victoria Park this week, with previously announced headliners including Jamie xx, OUTBREAK Fest, Charli xcx, and London Grammar. The debut edition of LIDO Festival, run by AEG Presents All Points East, promises to be an exciting event with more acts and programming details still to be announced.

In recent months, Massive Attack have made headlines for their environmental activism, including releasing a statement in support of Kneecap after the trio faced renewed scrutiny and concert cancellations. The band also turned down Coachella 2025 due to the festival’s environmental impact, with Del Naja stating that "Gaza is the story. Genocide is the story. And the silence, acquiescence and support of those crimes against humanity by the elected British government is the real story."
