McDonald’s Confirms Return of Beloved Snack Wrap
====================================================
In a move that is sure to delight fans of the popular menu item, McDonald’s has confirmed that the Snack Wrap will be making a permanent return to restaurants nationwide. According to a statement provided to USA Today, the Snack Wrap will officially be back on menus beginning Thursday, July 10.
The Snack Wrap features one of McDonald’s new McCrispy Strips – a juicy chicken strip made with all white meat – topped with crisp shredded lettuce and shredded cheese, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. USA Today reported that the item will be available in two flavors: Spicy and Ranch. The Spicy Snack Wrap brings the heat with a habanero kick, while the Ranch Snack Wrap delivers a satisfying burst of cool ranch goodness.
Customers can order the Snack Wrap a la carte or as a combo meal, which includes two Snack Wraps, medium fries, and a drink of choice. To celebrate the return of the item, McDonald’s has launched snackwrapfiles.com, a website that the company is calling “fans’ VIP entry to all things Snack Wrap.” The website’s home page says, “This is the content hub for the most anticipated menu item of the decade. Explore all the lore, like fan-inspired posts or merch concepts. And keep checking back because new files are added weekly,” as quoted by USA Today.
The Snack Wrap was first introduced to the McDonald’s menu in 2006 and quickly gained a loyal following. However, the item was phased out nationally in 2016, despite its popularity. According to USA Today, McDonald’s said that fans never gave up on the Snack Wrap, and their dedication inspired the company to bring it back. “From countless social media posts to full-fledged petitions, they never gave up on their favorite menu item. They’re the ones who inspired us to make its return to the menu happen,” McDonald’s said.
In response to the return of the Snack Wrap, Popeyes announced on Monday, June 2, that it is introducing its own version of Chicken Wraps to its menu. The wraps feature Popeyes hand-breaded and battered chicken tenders with crispy lettuce, shredded cheese, and crunchy pickles, all in a warm tortilla that’s inspired by the flavor of Popeyes biscuits. The new item will cost $3.99 and will be available with your choice of a Classic, Spicy, or Honey Mustard spread.
The wraps and drinks will be available beginning June 2 for a limited time at participating Popeyes restaurants nationwide. As reported by USA Today, the return of the Snack Wrap and the introduction of Popeyes’ Chicken Wraps are sure to heat up the fast food wars. With both popular chains offering their own take on the chicken wrap, customers are sure to have a range of delicious options to choose from.
