The Sunday Times Rich List 2025: Britain’s Wealthiest Under 40s Revealed
The Sunday Times has released its highly anticipated Rich List 2025, showcasing the wealthiest 350 individuals in Britain. Among them are 40 young people under the age of 40, who have made their fortunes through a variety of means, including music, sport, entertainment, and business. According to The Sunday Times, this list highlights the country’s brightest stars, many of whom have built their fortunes from scratch.
At the top of the list is Russian-born Israeli entrepreneur Dmitry Bukhman, who co-created mobile gaming giant Playrix and has an estimated wealth of £12.54 billion. The 39-year-old, who gained British citizenship this year, is followed by Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, whose wealth amounts to £9.88 billion. As The Sunday Times reports, Robert Watts, compiler of The Sunday Times Rich List, said: “Our 40 under 40 list showcases many of the country’s brightest stars from the worlds of tech, fashion, music and sport. Almost all of these people built their fortunes themselves and their number includes some who left school with few, if any, qualifications.”
The youngest person to feature on this year’s list is pop star Dua Lipa, 29, who is ranked 34th with an estimated wealth of £115 million. Music also features prominently in the list, with Ed Sheeran, 34, ranked 13th with £370 million, a £30 million increase from last year’s estimate. The Sunday Times notes that Sheeran’s wealth has increased significantly over the past year.
Reality TV star Georgia Toffolo, 30, is ranked 12th with a shared fortune of £425 million, courtesy of her marriage to BrewDog co-founder James Watt. Harry Styles, 31, who found fame as a member of boyband One Direction, is ranked 22nd with an estimated wealth of £225 million, a significant increase from last year’s estimate. The Sunday Times reports that Styles’ wealth has risen by around £50 million over the past year.
Other notable figures on the list include Adele, 37, who is ranked 26th with an estimated wealth of £170 million, and Daniel Radcliffe, 35, who is joint 38th with £100 million. England football captain Harry Kane is also joint 38th with £100 million, while retired tennis player Sir Andy Murray is ranked 35th with £110 million. As The Sunday Times notes, the list showcases British talent from various fields, including music, sport, and entertainment.
The list also features a number of entrepreneurs who have made their fortunes through business ventures. Piotr Dabkowski and Mati Staniszewski, co-founders of gaming company, are ranked 9th with an estimated wealth of £665 million. The Kent-Braham brothers, Oliver and Alexander, are ranked 7th with £704 million, courtesy of their online fashion retailer, PrettyLittleThing. The Sunday Times reports that these entrepreneurs are among the youngest and most successful in Britain.
