MrBeast Claims He Has ‘Very Little Money’ Due to Philanthropy and Content Reinvestment
In a recent post on social media platform X, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, revealed that he has “very little money” on hand due to reinvesting nearly all of his earnings into content and philanthropy. The YouTuber, who boasts over 400 million subscribers, made the statement in response to a post describing him as “the only billionaire under 30 to have not inherited his wealth.”
According to Yahoo News, MrBeast claimed that he personally has very little money because he reinvests everything into his content, stating that “I think this year we’ll spend around a quarter of a billion on content.” He went on to say that “Ironically, I’m actually borrowing $ from my mom to pay for my upcoming wedding lol,” adding that “But sure, on paper the businesses I own are worth a lot.”
This statement comes as a surprise, given that MrBeast is estimated to be worth around $1 billion, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Despite his vast wealth, it appears that MrBeast is choosing to allocate his funds towards his content and philanthropic efforts, rather than personal expenses.

They got engaged on Christmas Day in 2024 and are now planning their special day with the help of MrBeast’s family, including his mother, who is helping to fund the wedding.
The couple’s desire for a low-key wedding was reiterated by Booysen, who stated that they are “thinking of doing it somewhere on an island where we’re far away from just about everybody.” MrBeast also expressed his desire for a private celebration, saying that “I don’t take much vacation because of how hard I work, so I definitely want to make sure that the wedding will be a time to celebrate with her and spend time with friends and family who we really enjoy being with.”
In addition to his social media presence, MrBeast is also the host of the reality competition series Beast Games, which awarded its first season winner a record-breaking $10 million in prize money. The show has been renewed for seasons 2 and 3 on Prime Video, where it remains one of the most-watched unscripted shows.
