Chelsea Winger Spotted in Poland Ahead of Europa Conference League Final
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been spotted in the city centre of Wroclaw, Poland, ahead of the Europa Conference League final against Real Betis on Wednesday. According to eyewitnesses, the Ukraine international was seen walking around the city centre in his Chelsea training kit, accompanied by a friend. The sighting comes as a surprise to many, given that Mudryk has rarely been seen in public since his provisional ban for allegedly testing positive for a banned substance.
The BBC Sport understands that Mudryk’s appearance in Wroclaw was not widely known to the public or the media until he was spotted by a group of fans. One fan, who wished to remain anonymous, told BBC Sport that Mudryk was obviously visible in the city centre, and that he even invited a group of fans into a restaurant called Whiskey In the Jar to take photos and sign autographs. “He was really friendly and down-to-earth,” the fan said. “He seemed to be enjoying himself, and he was happy to chat with the fans and take photos.”
Mudryk’s presence in Wroclaw is all the more interesting given that he appears to have travelled separately from the rest of the Chelsea squad. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca did not have knowledge of Mudryk’s presence in Poland. “I don’t know anything about Mykhailo’s whereabouts,” Maresca said. “He’s not with the team, and I haven’t seen him since
