Newcastle United Prepare to Host Chelsea in Premier League Match
Newcastle United will look to continue their impressive form when they host Chelsea in a Premier League match at St James’ Park. According to BBC Sport, the Magpies have won seven of their last 11 Premier League home games against the Blues, including both matches under manager Eddie Howe.
In fact, Newcastle have a decent record against Chelsea, having won 14 of their 37 league meetings, with 11 draws and 12 defeats. The BBC Sport reports that Chelsea have won 31 Premier League games against Newcastle, only beating Tottenham and West Ham more often in the competition.
The two teams have already met once this season, with Newcastle securing a 2-0 win over Chelsea at St James’ Park in the EFL Cup. This was a significant victory for the Magpies, as they last beat Chelsea twice in the same campaign in 1986-87, and last beat them in two different competitions in 1931-32.
