Oasis Reunion: Gallagher Brothers Unite in London Club

Liam and Noel Gallagher Reunite for First Performance in 16 Years

A historic moment in music history unfolded on Thursday, as Liam and Noel Gallagher performed together for the first time in 16 years at a working men’s club in north London. According to reports, the brothers arrived at the Mildmay club in Newington Green separately, stayed for just over an hour, and made enough noise to provoke the ire of local residents. This reunion marks a significant milestone in the Gallagher brothers’ relationship, which has been the subject of much speculation in recent years.

The Guardian has confirmed that the brothers were in attendance at the venue, where they are believed to have filmed a promotional video for this summer’s highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour. As reported by The Guardian, the tour, dubbed ‘Oasis ’25’, will kick off in Cardiff on 4 July and will include seven shows at Wembley Stadium in London, as well as five in the Gallaghers’ hometown of Manchester. The UK leg of the tour will be followed by dates in the US, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and Australia, before concluding in South America in November.

The reunion tour was announced earlier this year, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see the brothers perform together again. As The Guardian reported, the tour’s announcement was met with excitement, with the band releasing a joint statement that read: "The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised." The statement is a clear indication of the band’s intention to put the past behind them and focus on their music.

In the lead-up to the tour, Noel Gallagher has been speaking about the reunion, confirming that rehearsals will begin in the next few weeks. In an interview with TalkSport, he said: "He’s alright. He’s on tip-top form. I was with him yesterday, actually." This statement has fuelled speculation that the brothers have put their differences aside and are focused on delivering a successful tour.

However, the tour has not been without controversy. Earlier this week, it was reported that fans have collectively lost more than £2m to scams since tickets went on sale in August 2024, according to data from Lloyds Banking Group. Additionally, the Competition and Markets Authority previously found that Ticketmaster may have "breached" consumer protection law in the way it sold more than 900,000 tickets, with some fans ending up paying more than £350 for tickets worth £150.

The band has shrugged off criticism of ticket pricing, saying in a statement last year: "Inevitably interest in this tour is so overwhelming that it’s impossible to schedule enough shows to fulfil public demand. As for the well-reported complaints many buyers had over the operation of Ticketmaster’s dynamic ticketing: it needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used."

As reported by The Guardian, Liam Gallagher has also been involved in a public spat with a fan who expressed disappointment at the ticket prices. In response to one fan, who wrote on X that they "didn’t expect [Oasis] to rip off the fans as much as they have", Liam curtly replied: "SHUTUP". This exchange highlights the challenges that come with managing fan expectations and ensuring that ticket prices are fair.

The reunion tour is a significant event in the music industry, marking a new chapter in the Gallagher brothers’ relationship. As The Guardian continues to report, the tour will be closely watched by fans and industry insiders alike. With rehearsals set to begin soon, fans can expect a thrilling and highly anticipated show. The Guardian will continue to provide updates on the tour and the Gallagher brothers’ reunion.
