Big Bash League News: Adelaide Strikers Secure Jamie Overton as Overseas Player
In a significant development ahead of the upcoming Big Bash League season, Adelaide Strikers have announced the signing of English bowling all-rounder Jamie Overton as their international pre-signing. "His last two seasons with the Strikers have been outstanding, not just with his individual performances with both bat and ball, but also with his competitive spirit and energy he brings to the group. Jamie has such a big impact over the game, he can change the course of a match in just a few overs."
Overton expressed his delight at returning to the Adelaide Strikers for a third consecutive season. "I’m absolutely thrilled to be coming back to Adelaide for another season," he mentioned, as reported by Crictracker. "I’ve loved my time with the Strikers and the incredible support we get from the fans at Adelaide Oval. It’s a fantastic club with a great bunch of lads, and I’m determined to help us push for finals and ultimately, the BBL title in BBL 15."
The overseas draft for the upcoming instalment of the BBL will be held on Thursday, June 19. The Strikers have picks No. 2, 10, 23, and 26 in the draft. As of May 29, the Adelaide Strikers have signed the following players: Cameron Boyce, Jordan Buckingham, Alex Carey, Thomas Kelly, Harry Nielsen, Jamie Overton, Lloyd Pope, Alex Ross, Jason Sangha, Matt Short, and Henry Thornton, as confirmed by Crictracker.
