PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for May Announced
The PlayStation Blog has announced the latest lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus members, set to be available from May 6. This month’s selection includes Ark: Survival Ascended, Balatro, and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.
According to the PlayStation Blog, these games will be available to PlayStation Plus members until June 2, giving subscribers ample time to download and enjoy them. The blog post reveals that Ark: Survival Ascended, a survival sim game, has been reimagined from the ground-up with Unreal Engine 5, boasting high-end graphic features, advanced physics systems, and quality of life revamps.
Ark: Survival Ascended – A Survival Sim Game
The PlayStation Blog describes Ark: Survival Ascended as a game where players can "form a tribe, tame and breed hundreds of species of dinosaurs and other primeval creatures, explore, craft, build, and fight your way to the top of the food-chain." This game supports public online multiplayer for up to 70 players, private-session multiplayer for up to 8 players, and local split-screen for 2 players.
Balatro – A Poker-Inspired Roguelike Deck Builder
Balatro, a poker-inspired roguelike deck builder, is another game featured in this month’s lineup. The PlayStation Blog states that in Balatro, players must "create powerful synergies and win big" by combining valid poker hands with unique joker cards. The game features a variety of synergies and builds, as well as hidden bonus hands and decks to uncover.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – A Retro-Style FPS Game
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, a retro-style FPS game, is the third title available this month. According to the PlayStation Blog, players will "load up your Boltgun and plunge into battle headfirst" as a battle-hardened Space Marine on a perilous mission across the galaxy. The game features a perfect blend of Warhammer 40,000 and classic FPS gameplay, with stylish visuals reminiscent of 90’s retro shooters.
Last Chance to Download April’s Games
The PlayStation Blog also reminds PlayStation Plus members that they have until May 5 to download April’s games, including RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory.
