In a statement, the Daily Express confirmed that "the superb Balatro is joined by Ark: Survival Ascended and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun." The games will be available on PS4 and PS5 consoles, and subscribers can look forward to enjoying these titles from May 6.
Earlier this week, the Daily Express reported that the May 2025 PS Plus games would be revealed by Sony at 4:30 pm BST on April 30. While there were few leaks in the lead-up to the announcement, one listing on the PlayStation Store suggested that Until Dawn Remastered might join the line-up. However, this has not been confirmed, and the Daily Express understands that the official line-up consists of Balatro, Ark: Survival Ascended, and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.
Until Dawn Remastered was previously speculated to be one of the games joining the PS Plus line-up, with a listing on the PlayStation Store spotted by a Reddit user. The listing, which has since been removed, suggested that Sony may have accidentally posted the information ahead of schedule. The Daily Express noted that "the timing of the release would certainly make sense given an Until Dawn movie has just been released at cinemas. Making the game available via PS Plus would further promote the film, and give fans the chance to see where it all began."
In the lead-up to the official announcement, PS Plus subscribers took to Reddit to speculate about the May line-up. Sports games such as EA FC 25 and NBA 2K25 were popular picks, as were titles like Lost in Random, Hades, Trepang 2, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, Pacific Drive, Undisputed, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, and Atomic Heart. First-party games like The Last of Us Part 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and LEGO Horizon were also tipped.
