2025 Quarterback Rankings for Fantasy Football: Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen at QB1
As the 2025 fantasy football season approaches, enthusiasts are gearing up to dominate their leagues. With less than 17 weeks standing between us and kickoff, Fantasy Life has released its top-12 quarterback rankings for 2025. According to the rankings, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are setting the bar high at the top.
Lamar Jackson, the reigning MVP, takes the top spot in Fantasy Life’s rankings. His impressive performance last season saw him achieve career highs in pass attempts (474), completions (316), yards (4,172), and touchdowns (41). Additionally, he rushed for 915 yards, averaging 53.8 rushing yards per game. As Fantasy Life notes, "We saw an elite Jackson last year. I’m not going to sit here and try to guess when regression happens, because we’ve never seen a quarterback like Lamar Jackson."
However, Josh Allen is hot on his heels, with many fantasy managers considering him for the QB1 spot. Allen has finished as a top-three quarterback in fantasy points per game in each of the last five seasons. In 2024, he had a career-low five interceptions and threw for 3,731 passing yards and 28 touchdowns. Fantasy Life observes, "Allen finished with 3,731 passing yards and 28 touchdowns with the Bills’ wide receivers and tight ends ranking just 27th in average Open Score."
A tier of their own, Jayden Daniels, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, and Patrick Mahomes follow closely behind. Daniels impressed in his rookie season, setting the rookie record for most quarterback rushing yards with 891 yards. Fantasy Life comments, "Not only did Daniels finish as the QB4, he also set the rookie record for most quarterback rushing yards with 891 yards on the season, and in doing so, surpassed RGIII."
Jalen Hurts, with the addition of Saquon Barkley, takes the QB4 spot. Fantasy Life notes, "Tush push drama aside, Jalen Hurts is the quarterback that finishes off these Tier 1 players. Now with the addition of Saquon Barkley, Hurts did not need to do much through the air."
Rounding out the top 10 are Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Bo Nix. Burrow’s ranking is influenced by his consistent performance and the Bengals’ struggling defense. Fantasy Life states, "The Bengals’ defense was atrocious, too. Not great for Bengals fans, but for fantasy, that meant that we continually saw scoring opportunities all the way down to the final minutes."
The rankings continue with Brock Purdy at QB10, Caleb Williams at QB11, and Justin Fields at QB12. According to Fantasy Life, "Williams took a league-leading 68 sacks last season, the third-most in NFL history. And in those 68 sacks, he lost 466 yards, which was the fourth-most ever."
The 2025 quarterback rankings for fantasy football are shaping up to be highly competitive, with several top-tier players vying for the top spot. As Fantasy Life concludes, "If you want stability through the ups and downs, then Purdy is your guy."
