Rand’Oxygene Club Embarks on a Sunny Getaway to Sète
A group of hikers from the Rand’Oxygène club recently spent a weekend in Sète, enjoying the warm weather and beautiful landscapes. According to La Dépêche, the club’s members descended upon the coastal town with high spirits, eager to take on the region’s challenging trails.
The group’s first day began with a bus ride along the coast, which included a stop at the picturesque Lac du Salagou. It was here that they embarked on their first hike, a 9km trek that allowed them to take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. As La Dépêche reports, the hikers then made their way to Balaruc-les-Bains, where they walked along a section of the Georges-Brassens trail, a scenic route that showcases the region’s natural beauty.
After a day of hiking, the group retired to their accommodations for a well-deserved rest. The following day, they set out on a new adventure, this time in the Massif de la Gardiole, which they accessed from the historic Abbaye de Saint-Félix de Montceau. As they made their way through the rugged terrain, the hikers were treated to stunning views and even stumbled upon wild asparagus, which they were no doubt eager to sample. A bus ride to the summit of Mont Saint-Clair provided a panoramic view of the landscape, a fitting end to a day of exploring.
However, the group’s return journey was not without incident. As La Dépêche notes, their bus broke down near Le Caylar, leaving them stranded for nearly three hours until a replacement vehicle arrived. Fortunately, the delay did not seem to dampen the group’s spirits, and they were able to continue their journey without further incident.
The Rand’Oxygène club’s trip to Sète was clearly a success, with members enjoying the beautiful scenery and camaraderie that comes with exploring new places together. As reported by La Dépêche, the group’s next adventure is already on the horizon, with a four-day trip to the Pays basque in Sare scheduled for mid-May.
