Rodgers, Gray & McGlynn in Running for Top Manager Honour

Hibernian’s Unbeaten Run Comes to an End, Falkirk on Brink of Promotion
The Scottish Premiership has witnessed a remarkable resurgence from Hibernian, who had been on a 17-match unbeaten run in the league prior to their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen last weekend. According to a report by the BBC, this impressive streak saw them surge up the table from December. In their current campaign, Hibs have defeated every side except St Mirren in the Premiership.

The Edinburgh-based club had been performing exceptionally well under their current management, which has been reflected in their recent form. As noted by the BBC, “Hibs equalled a club record of 17 league games unbeaten to leap up the table from December before last weekend’s 1-0 defeat by Aberdeen at Pittodrie.” This impressive run was unfortunately brought to an end by a single goal at Pittodrie Stadium.

In other news, Falkirk manager Mark McGlynn is on the verge of achieving back-to-back promotions with his team. As reported by the BBC, McGlynn won the award last season for guiding Falkirk to an unbeaten League 1 triumph. The team is now on the cusp of returning to the Premiership, having not featured in the top tier since 2010.

Falkirk require just a point from their upcoming match against Hamilton to match Livingston’s result and secure promotion. This achievement would be a testament to McGlynn’s leadership and the team’s hard work throughout the season. The BBC report highlights that “if they equal Livingston’s result on Friday night when they play Hamilton, Falkirk will return to the Premiership for the first time since 2010.”

The PFA Scotland women’s manager of the year shortlist has also been announced, featuring an impressive array of coaches. The shortlisted managers, as reported by the BBC, include Rangers’ Jo Potter, Hibernian’s Grant Scott, Glasgow City’s Leanne Ross, and Motherwell’s Paul Brownlie. These individuals were voted for by their peers and have played a pivotal role in their respective teams’ successes this season.

The nominated coaches have their teams competing at the highest level, with Potter, Scott, and Ross leading their sides in a tight battle for the SWPL title. With five games remaining, the title is still up for grabs. Meanwhile, Rangers have already secured the SWPL Cup and are set to face Glasgow City in next month’s Scottish Cup final. Paul Brownlie, on the other hand, led Motherwell to a top-six finish and a Scottish Cup semi-final appearance, where they were ultimately beaten 4-0 by Glasgow City. The winners of the PFA Scotland awards, including the manager and player categories, will be announced at a dinner on Sunday, 4 May.

As sourced from the BBC report, it is clear that the Scottish football scene is heating up, with both men’s and women’s divisions witnessing intense competition and remarkable achievements. With promotions, titles, and cups up for grabs, the conclusion of the season promises to be an exciting one for Scottish football fans.
