AC Milan to Face Venezia in Serie A Match
AC Milan will face Venezia in a Serie A match today, with kick-off at 11:30 UK time (10:30 GMT, 12:30 CET) at the Stadio Penzo. According to Football Italia, Milan has confirmed the side that crushed Inter 3-0 in the Coppa Italia semi-final midweek, including Luka Jovic, Rafael Leao, and Christian Pulisic.
Milan is languishing in ninth place in Serie A but managed to revitalise their campaign by beating Inter 3-0 on Wednesday evening to book their Coppa Italia Final against Bologna. This victory also boosted their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League. However, there is still a chance to turn things around in the league.
The Rossoneri have only one remaining absentee, Emerson Royal, as Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kyle Walker are back on the bench. Matteo Gabbia has also shaken off a neck problem to start in the three-man defence, as Sergio Conceicao sticks with the team that beat Inter a few days ago. This means Theo Hernandez and Alex Jimenez will play in more advanced roles, with Leao and Pulisic flanking Jovic.
Venezia, on the other hand, is still in the bottom three but has made themselves very difficult to break down recently. They have lost only one of their last eight games, including draws with Lazio, Atalanta, Como, and Napoli, losing only 1-0 to Bologna. According to Football Italia, Daniel Fila returns from suspension, but Michael Svoboda, Richie Sagrado, and Mikel Ellertsson are out of action.
The team’s goalkeeper, Filip Stankovic, who is owned by Inter, is back in the squad after a serious knee injury at the start of February. Fila is supported by John Yeboah, with Gianluca Busio and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia in midfield.
The line-ups for the match are as follows:
Venezia: Radu; Schingtienne, Idzes, Candè; Zerbin, Busio, Nicolussi Caviglia, Conde, Haps; Fila, Yeboah.
Venezia bench: Grandi, Joronen, Stanković; Carboni, Marcandalli, Šverko, Zampano; Bjarkason, Doumbia, Duncan, Kike Pérez; Gytkjær, Ladisa, Marić, Oristanio.
Milan: Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlović; Jiménez, Fofana, Reijnders, Hernández; Pulisic, Jović, Leão.
Milan bench: Sportiello, Torriani; Florenzi, Terracciano, Thiaw, Walker; Bondo, Loftus-Cheek, Musah; Abraham, Chukwueze, Gimenez, João Félix, Sottil.
