London Weather: A Mixed Bag of Sunshine and Showers Expected This Week

According to the latest forecast, Londoners can expect a mix of sunshine and showers this week, with temperatures ranging between 18°C and 22°C during the day. The week will begin on a bright note, with Monday (June 2) seeing sunny intervals in the afternoon and temperatures reaching a warm 22°C, reports Yahoo UK News.

However, the weather will take a turn for the worse on Tuesday, with a south-southwest wind gusting up to 36mph and light rain expected from late morning through to early evening. The Yahoo UK News forecast states that there is an 80 to 95 per cent chance of precipitation in the afternoon, with temperatures peaking at 18°C and dropping to 11°C overnight.

Wednesday will see scattered light showers and cloud-dominated skies, with temperatures slightly increasing to 19°C. Despite intermittent sunny spells in the afternoon, moderate humidity and mild breezes are expected throughout the day, notes Yahoo UK News. The unsettled weather continues into Thursday with lighter and more scattered showers, alongside a maximum temperature of 20°C.

The Yahoo UK News forecast also warns that commuters and afternoon walkers are advised to carry wet weather gear on Friday as light showers are predicted, particularly in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach 19°C, dipping to 11°C overnight, with occasional sunshine. Saturday will be slightly cooler with a maximum of 18°C, dropping to a chilly 10°C overnight.

The day will be predominantly grey with brief clearings, while light breezes prevail. However, the weekend ends on a brighter note, with Sunday seeing the return of sunny intervals, providing a pleasant day for outdoor plans. Highs of 19°C are expected, and overnight lows will hover around 11°C. The Yahoo UK News forecast states that rain is not expected, and UV levels may rise again, offering a dry and mild conclusion to the week.

In summary, London can expect a mixed bag of weather this week, with the wettest day likely to be Tuesday and the sunniest spells expected at the beginning and end of the week. Residents are advised to plan accordingly and carry wet weather gear, especially on days when showers are predicted. As Yahoo UK News reports, temperatures will generally range between 18°C and 22°C during the day, with cooler nights anticipated, particularly over the weekend.
