Liverpool ECHO Reports: Met Office Shares Weather Forecast for Merseyside
A warm and sunny day is expected to sweep across Merseyside, with the Met Office predicting highs of 21C and lows of 9C on Sunday, May 18. According to the weather forecast, Sunday will be another “dry and fine” day for the region, with forecasters suggesting there may be some cloud cover at times, but also plenty of warm sunshine.
The Met Office’s forecast for Merseyside indicates that there will be clear skies and sunshine throughout the day, with temperatures reaching the low 20s. Met Office presenter and meteorologist, Aidan McGivern, said: “We start Sunday with more low cloud. It tends to creep back in overnight before once more retreating back to the east coast during the morning and into the early afternoon.” He added that by the afternoon, it would be a repeat of Saturday, with clear blue skies for most areas, away from the far north and far east coast.
The warm weather is set to continue into the rest of the week, with the Met Office’s UK long range forecast for Wednesday, May 21 to Friday, May 30, predicting a generally dry and fine end to the working week. The forecast states that light winds and warm sunshine will continue across the United Kingdom, with temperatures likely to be above normal for the time of year. However, there may be a few showers possible, and the majority of places are expected to be dry.
As reported by the Liverpool ECHO, into the bank holiday weekend and following week, a change in weather type is expected, with more unsettled conditions likely to develop. Weather systems moving in from the Atlantic will bring spells of rain to many areas, perhaps heavy at times, with a risk of strong winds in places. Forecasters said drier and brighter intervals are likely between systems, with temperatures probably near normal or slightly above.
Aidan McGivern also warned of high UV levels, saying: “Again, high UV levels, if you’re spending time outdoors, make sure you factor that in.” The Met Office has advised residents to make the most of the warm weather, while also taking necessary precautions to protect themselves from the sun.
The warm weather has been a welcome respite for many residents in Merseyside, with images of sunny days on the Liverpool waterfront shared on social media. As reported by the Liverpool ECHO, the region has been basking in glorious sunshine, with clear blue skies and warm temperatures making for perfect conditions to get outdoors and enjoy the local scenery.
