Survival in Focus: ‘God Save Birmingham’ Gameplay Trailer Unveiled

Medieval Zombie Apocalypse Hits Birmingham: "God Save Birmingham" Gameplay Trailer Released

A new gameplay trailer has been released for the upcoming open-world survival game, God Save Birmingham, developed by Ocean Drive Studio and published by Kakao Games. The trailer, which was released earlier this week, showcases the game’s 14th-century zombie-infested medieval setting and its physics-based gameplay mechanics.

According to Bloody Disgusting, the gameplay trailer demonstrates the player’s struggle for survival in a zombie-besieged Birmingham. The footage shows the player character starting out in an abandoned house, navigating through the environment to avoid drawing attention from the undead while gathering essential supplies. As the player progresses, the situation quickly becomes chaotic, providing a glimpse into the game’s combat mechanics.

As reported by Bloody Disgusting, God Save Birmingham is set in 14th-century Birmingham, England, where the player takes on the role of a lone survivor of an undead plague that has overrun the medieval market town. To survive, the player must forage for supplies, craft tools and weapons, and hunt for food, water, and shelter, relying solely on their wits to protect themselves from the ever-closing in undead horde.

The game features physics-based mechanics, which require the player to think strategically to stay alive. This includes stacking furniture to barricade doors, using low fences to trip up undead foes, and lopping off limbs to reduce the undead to angry, wriggling torsos. This level of interactivity promises to provide a thrilling and immersive experience for players.

In addition to the gameplay trailer, Bloody Disgusting reports that players will have the opportunity to experience God Save Birmingham firsthand at PAX East, which takes place from May 8-11. The developers will have a PAX-exclusive playable demo available, allowing attendees to get a hands-on feel for the game.

God Save Birmingham is scheduled to release into Early Access on Steam, where it will likely remain for a period of one year while Ocean Drive Studio refines gameplay and completes the town. The game’s development and upcoming release have generated significant interest among fans of survival games and zombie enthusiasts. As noted by Bloody Disgusting, the game’s unique blend of medieval setting and zombie apocalypse elements, combined with its physics-based gameplay mechanics, makes it a title to watch in the coming months.

The game’s Early Access release on Steam will provide players with an opportunity to experience the game and provide feedback to the developers. According to Bloody Disgusting, this will enable Ocean Drive Studio to polish gameplay and complete the town, ensuring that the final product meets the high standards of the gaming community.
