Benefit Payment Dates for June 2025: What You Need to Know
As we approach the midpoint of the year, many individuals rely on benefit payments to get by. If you’re one of them, it’s essential to stay informed about when you can expect your payments to arrive. According to Big Issue, benefit payments are usually made on a specific date each month, but if that date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, payments will be made on the working day before.
State Pension Payment Dates in June 2025
If you’re receiving a state pension, you can expect your payment to be made every four weeks. The day of the week your pension is paid depends on your National Insurance number. Big Issue reports that if your NI number is between 00 and 019, you’ll be paid on a Monday, while those with numbers between 20 and 39 will receive their payment on a Tuesday. Wednesday is the payment day for those with NI numbers between 40 and 59, Thursday for those between 60 and 79, and Friday for those between 80 and 99.
When you claim your state pension, you’ll be asked to choose when you want to start receiving your payments. Your first payment will be made no later than five weeks after the date you choose. Additionally, if your normal payment day falls on a bank holiday, you may receive your payment earlier.
What to Do if You Haven’t Received Your Benefit Payment
If your benefit payment is overdue and you believe you should have received it, Big Issue advises double-checking your payment date on your awards notice. If there’s been a bank holiday or weekend, it’s possible that your payment may be delayed until the next working day. You should also contact your bank to see if the payment is pending and hasn’t cleared yet.
