Trudny początek Świątek w Roland Garros

Iga Świątek Survives Scare Against Rebecca Sramkova in Roland Garros

Polish tennis star Iga Świątek has progressed to the second round of the French Open, but not without a scare. The world number five needed to dig deep to overcome Slovakia’s Rebecca Sramkova, ranked 42nd in the WTA, in a closely contested match.

According to Sport.pl, Świątek, who is seeking a fourth consecutive title in Paris, was made to work hard for her 6-4, 6-3 victory. The match was marked by a significant change in Świątek’s fortunes, as she overcame a tough test to set up a second-round encounter with Britain’s Emma Raducanu.

The Sport.pl report noted that Sramkova, who had previously lost to Świątek in the second round of the Australian Open, was a much-improved player on this occasion. She served well and used her skirts to great effect, causing Świątek problems throughout the match.

As Sport.pl pointed out, Świątek had not been in such a precarious situation at Roland Garros since she rose to tennis prominence. The Pole had been struggling with form and confidence in recent months, and her performance in Rome was a major concern. However, she showed signs of improvement in this match, particularly in the second set.

The article from Sport.pl highlighted that Świątek’s coach and fans will be relieved that she was able to overcome her struggles and secure the win. The Pole will now face Raducanu in the second round, and it is hoped that she will continue to build on her form and produce a more convincing performance.

As noted by Sport.pl, Świątek’s recent form has been a far cry from her usual standards, and she has been struggling to regain her confidence. However, she showed glimpses of her former self in this match, particularly in the second set, where she produced a series of impressive shots and began to dominate the contest.

The match was marked by a dramatic turnaround in the second set, as Sramkova took a 2-0 lead and then 3-1. However, Świątek refused to give up and eventually turned the match around, securing the win with a third match point.

According to Sport.pl, Świątek’s victory was a significant one, as it marked a major step forward in her campaign to regain her form and confidence. The Pole will now look to build on this win and produce a more convincing performance in the second round against Raducanu.

As Sport.pl , " Świątek’s progress was marked by a renewed sense of determination and resilience."

The report in Sport.pl stated: "Dawid Celt, a tennis expert for Eurosport, noted that Świątek’s chances against Sramkova were not as clear-cut as they seemed on paper."
