Alison Hammond and Son Aidan to Star in Celebrity Gogglebox
Presenter Alison Hammond and her son Aidan are set to take part in the next celebrity special of Gogglebox. According to The Sun, the duo will be joining the popular Channel 4 show, which aims to raise money for the Stand Up To Cancer appeal.
The Sun reports that producers were impressed by the dynamic between Aidan and his mother on their new travel show, Florida Unpacked, and wanted to feature them on Celebrity Gogglebox. The show, which has yet to be dated, will see Alison and Aidan join other new pairings, with the aim of keeping the programme feeling fresh.
Alison Hammond’s Busy Schedule
Alison Hammond is no stranger to television, with a busy schedule that includes hosting Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend, where she spends 48 hours with a star to get a deep insight into their world. She is also still fronting This Morning with Dermot O’Leary and For the Love of Dogs, both for ITV1, and is currently filming another series of the Great British Bake Off for Channel 4.
The Sun notes that Celebrity Gogglebox was practically the only TV show Alison Hammond hadn’t been on, making her appearance a highly anticipated one. As The Sun previously reported, Alison and her 19-year-old son Aidan recently completed a four-part Florida adventure for the BBC, where they toured the sunshine state together on a budget.
Dynamic Duo Impress Producers
A TV insider told The Sun that producers were impressed by the dynamic between Aidan and his mum on their travel show, saying: “They’re always looking for new duos to appear on the programme to keep it constantly feeling fresh, and, of course, fronting the Great British Bake Off means she’s already part of the C4 family.”
The Insider also revealed that a date for the series has yet to be set, and the other names aren’t confirmed. However, with Alison Hammond’s popularity and her son Aidan’s charming on-screen presence, fans are eagerly anticipating their appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.
