Denise Van Outen’s Love Life Revealed: The TV Star Opens Up About Her Romantic Journey
Denise Van Outen, the 51-year-old television presenter and singer, has been making headlines with her recent revelations about her love life. According to a report in the Bristol Post, Denise has shared that she took up golf as a strategy to meet a new partner, following her divorce from Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead, the father of her daughter Betsy, a decade ago.
The Mirror reports that Denise viewed golf as a preferable alternative to dating websites and alcohol-fuelled nights out. In her own words, “The reason I got into it – this is the truth – it was after my divorce, and I wanted to go somewhere where there are just loads of men,” Denise confessed. “I just thought ‘Where can I go?’ – I remember discussing it with my friend. Because when you’re young, you just go to a nightclub. And I was like ‘I’m not going to be able to do that now, and I just don’t want to spend all night in the nightclub’.”
As reported by the Bristol Post, Denise’s decision to take up golf has been a successful one, with the TV star now reportedly having a new partner, businessman Adam Butler, who accompanied her on a holiday to the Maldives last month. This news comes after her separation from Italian property tycoon Jimmy Barber in November last year, after an 18-month relationship.
Denise, who was a former Strictly runner-up and is now a successful DJ, has been open about her experiences with love and relationships. She previously dated trader Eddie Boxshall, but they separated in 2022 amidst allegations that he sent secret texts to other women. However, Denise has found love once more, and it seems that she is enjoying her newfound happiness.
In an interview with the Pack Your Bags podcast, Denise remarked: “We need more women playing golf. I’ve travelled with that and gone to some lovely places. I centre a lot of my holidays around either golf or DJing. I can play. I can hit a ball.” The Bristol Post reports that Denise fondly recalled playing at a particularly delightful course in Barbados, where players are routinely served cocktails by staff on buggies.
When questioned about how this service impacts her game, Denise commented: “It normally gets better and then it starts to really go downhill quite rapidly.” This lighthearted approach to her golf game is a testament to her carefree spirit and enthusiasm for the sport.
Following her breakup with Jimmy, Denise candidly shared with the Mirror: “This summer has probably been the most sort of hedonistic summer I’ve had since the 90s. I’ve had a lot of fun a lot of going out lot of drinking rosé wine in the summer and enjoying myself. But I’m good at knowing when to stop.” This statement showcases Denise’s ability to enjoy herself and live life to the fullest.
In her search for new romantic exploits, Denise ventured into the world of celebrity matchmaking via the dating app Raya. She revealed: “I did connect with one massive Hollywood star. We had a little bit of the chat, but I don’t live in LA, so I thought, he’s not going to come to Chelmsford. I loved it [Raya]. I’ve made some friends. I go on dates. I’m not an angel. I’m out having a good time.”
However, considering what she’s heard from friends, Denise is not in a hurry to dive back into a relationship. She disclosed: “My friends in these long-term relationships are all moaning to me anyway. They say they don’t have sex and argue all the time. They try to creep in at night when their other half’s asleep in bed.” This statement highlights Denise’s pragmatic approach to relationships and her contentment with her current single status.
Denise went on to say: “I feel happier now than I used to, because I’m more content in myself. As we start to get older, you hear of people getting the illnesses. I lost a friend when she was quite young. It made me realise it’s more important to celebrate the fact you’re still here and still able to enjoy yourself and do things.” This poignant statement showcases Denise’s growth and maturity, as she prioritizes her own happiness and well-being.
The news of Denise’s love life has been making headlines, with many fans and followers eager to keep up with her romantic journey. According to the Bristol Post, Denise has experienced her fair share of ups and downs in her personal life, but it seems that she is now in a good place, enjoying her life and embracing new experiences.
