Weather Woes: Isle of Man TT Unveils Revised Schedule

Isle of Man TT 2025: Bad Weather Forces Schedule Change

The 2025 Isle of Man TT has been hit with a significant schedule change due to inclement weather during practice week, according to The Race. The first two races, initially set to take place on Saturday, have been rescheduled to Monday to accommodate an additional full-day qualifying session.

So far, only one timed session has been completed during practice week, which took place on Wednesday night. The first full-day session on Monday was called off, while Tuesday’s practice run was held as an untimed session on damp roads. Furthermore, mist on the Snaefell mountain caused Thursday night’s session to be cancelled just as bikes were heading to technical controls.

As reported by The Race, despite Friday’s extended day-long session being expected to go ahead, organisers have confirmed that they will activate Monday’s contingency day to add extra timed practice time to the schedule on Saturday. This will allow solo riders to potentially log as many as 10 laps of the 37.73-mile course.

The roads will now close at 10:00, with superbikes and superstock machines being the first to take to the track, followed by supersport and supertwins, and then sidecars. This order will be repeated again from 14:00. As a result, Saturday’s opening two races, for the supersport and sidecar classes, have been moved to Monday. They will retain their original start times of 10:45 and 14:00 and will remain four and three laps long, respectively.

Sunday’s schedule remains unchanged, with the first superbike race set to go off at 13:30 for six laps. The updated schedule for the rest of the 2025 Isle of Man TT is as follows:

  • Friday, May 30
    • 13:00 Superbike/Superstock qualifying 2
    • 14:05 Sidecar qualifying 2
    • 14:55 Supersport/Supertwin qualifying 2
    • 18:30 Superbike/Superstock qualifying 3
    • 19:20 Supersport/Supertwin qualifying 3

    • 11:30 Supersport/Supertwin qualifying 4
    • 12:30 Sidecar qualifying 4
    • 14:00 Superbike/Superstock qualifying 5
    • 14:45 Supersport/Supertwin qualifying 5

    • 10:45 Superstock race 2
    • 14:00 Supertwin race 2
  • Saturday, June 7

According to The Race, the schedule change is a significant development in the 2025 Isle of Man TT, and fans will be eagerly awaiting the updated schedule. As quoted in the original article, "The roads will now close at 10:00, with superbikes and superstock machines first away, followed by supersport and supertwins, then sidecars."

The 2025 Isle of Man TT is set to be an exciting event, with top riders competing in various classes. Fans can stay up-to-date with the latest news and schedule changes by following The Race.
