Wolves Freeze Season Ticket Prices for 2025/26 Season
In a move that is sure to be welcomed by fans, Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club has announced that it will freeze season ticket prices for the 2025/26 season. The decision, which was revealed on Thursday, comes after the club faced intense criticism last year when they announced significant price increases.
According to the Express & Star, the club’s decision to freeze prices was influenced by fan feedback and criticism. Last year, the club faced a backlash from supporters when they announced price increases of up to 17 per cent for adult tickets and a staggering 176 per cent for some children’s tickets. The backlash led to fans launching a petition and a campaign by fan groups, which ultimately resulted in club chairman Jeff Shi meeting with the Wolves Fan Advisory Board.
As reported by the Express & Star, Shi and Wolves have now gone a step further by freezing all tickets for next season across all stands and age categories. The move is seen as a significant U-turn by the club, which had previously been criticised for its pricing strategy. Junior season tickets will cost £105, under-17s behind the goals will pay £276, while adults in the same seats will pay £735.
The Express & Star quoted Head Coach Vitor Pereira as saying: "We’re building something together here – and the supporters are a massive part of that. When Molineux is loud and intimidating, it gives the team belief, it gives us energy. Next season, we want to make it a special place to play every single week – and it’s up to us to set the tempo with our performance, and then the fans to react with their support".
The club’s decision to freeze prices will come as a relief to many fans, who had been critical of the club’s pricing strategy. According to the Express & Star, Wolves came under huge pressure to row back on their decision last summer, with fans criticising the ‘benchmarking’ tactics to other clubs of a similar size, despite many of those clubs fighting higher up the table.
In a statement, the club said: "Wolves would like to thank the Fan Advisory Board for their input and collaboration in recent months, helping to shape decisions that matter most to match going supporters. The club remains committed to continuing discussions with the Fan Advisory Board on a wide variety of topics moving forward. Once again, supporters will be able to purchase their season ticket using the club’s interest-free payment plan. The season ticket renewal process will begin on May 7, with further details including full pricing tables, FAQs and renewal timelines to be publicised and shared with season ticket holders". The news is sure to be welcomed by fans, who have been eagerly awaiting the club’s pricing strategy for next season.
The decision to freeze prices is a significant move by the club, which is looking to build on a successful season. Despite struggling this season, the club managed to secure Premier League survival under the guidance of Head Coach Vitor Pereira, who replaced Gary O’Neil earlier in the season. The Express & Star reported that the club’s unexpected move to freeze all season ticket prices for next season – going a step further than Shi’s promise last year – will now be welcomed by many fans.
